Setting up the blog - Gazillion time -

Okay gals, setting up the blog and rehasing content, I heard that's quite the novel idea *giggle* Nevermind. It seems Windows 10 - which I have to say I have no big problems so far and that decided it would be cool to update itself in my old laptop, just because - doesn't work well with my version of Photoshop CS6 - there is flickering sometimes and gives me a headache - due to a last udpate, which you can no longer set for whenever you want. I really hope they change that one of these days at Microsoft, it's really annoying.

Haven Quarterly Second Cap (Peril at the Disco)

Howdy people here's the second cap I told you about in the last post. I noticed from other authors blogs that sometimes It could be hard for the reader to actually fully enjoy the cap, because the text becomes a bit hard to read. Also noticed that some other captioners post the transcription directly in the post. So I'm gonna try that, and you tell me if you would like that in subsequent post or not.  Obviously I tend to do series, so I don't know if thats gonna work..

The Haven Quaterly III (The Attack of The Symbiote Queen) Re - Launch

Howdy gals, I dunno if you seen it this before, if you don't. Well today is your lucky day. A whole year has passed since I made this caption for the Haven Quaterly and since I consider it to be from the new line of work I produce it will be posted here - I had a previous one for the second Issue alas I cannot find it in my hard drive sorry - 

The Attack of the Symbiote Queen: Issue #3

The story may seems silly but then again Symbiote appearing in our planet is silly too! Is a lovely excuse to read a great corruption symbiote story though. I have to say this was lovely proofreaded from ShySteffie, so thanks Steffie.

In other news I have been asked to redone the older captions I've posted here into the new style. I'm not against it, but it seems much work and I have to be sure you will like it. In the end is like making the same caption but with another format - and possibly with better grammar! -

Spanish or English???!

So Hi gals today I've received good personal news and some bad online news...


Lets see the good news are that my grades are going on the right direction ^-^


And the online well that the important to you who follow my blog...


After creating this one for a friend in the Haven called Kayla and posting it in another place to see the results...


and I quote the comment from Kayla...


This cap does a great job of covering the darker elements of what I'd like to do with some of my pets.  To be able to let their inner girl out to play...to have that complete control over her.  Mine to play with as I like...to be my servant girl, or my bedside companion.

You did a great job of hitting this particular aspect of me Alectra.


(and after talking with her about it there's really some minor grammar errors!)


I received two completely opposite comments the one really important for me was from Kayla who told me that the cap was good and really got her interest. The other one is kind of a troll comment... (Hypnopics Collective gallery btw)

Good, Nice storyline, but there are NUMEROUS grammatical errors that make the story hard to understand. Plus, by putting the word "Smirk" In quotation marks, You give the illusion that she is saying the word smirk. Its also difficult to tell when she is acting or moving.

Saying that Is like saying is impossible to read or understand?! (I'm really considering not to post any more stuff onto that place is I'm going to get negative feedback everytime!)

And I use this "" instead of this ** because it doesn't blend well in the kind of font I use in Quark... (DejaVu Sans Condensed) which by the way is my favourite!

So I know the internet is full of different kind of people and that I shouldn't take it that much onto me but today I feel a bit down for other reasons and encountering that kind of comment got me wondering.

So I'm spanish... why should I keep striving to make caps in english? Easy short answer is to get it to more public. I know my mother tongue reach to about 43% of the overall population... but in English you still reach a lot more. Not to say on people's interest on this... who will be willing to comment and be nice or give a constructive criticism... okay enough with it... Judge by yourselves ^_^

And of course this is a bit of a rant because after having so many positive feedback from my 100th post...

Hi gals I'm bringing you today a cap I've done today for Dee in the Haven and the reason I'm posting it over here is because I feel like I've cheated with you all for posting something not TG "giggle".

Suckubbus Renaissance (Gift Cap)

So hi gals today I bring you a great story done for the always Wicked Victoria Hyde "giggle"

Me and my big... (Starring Caitlyn work Reshaped)

Hi gals today there is nothing new but since I've accomplished something over another something that Caitlyn did for me I wanted to share that with everyone!


So I know I'm not a big expert on Photoshop whatsoever but, I won't turn down over stuff I don't comprehend just like that... So I searched and searched and searched a bit more and finally I found the solution (sort of)

So okay now you will understand it better I guess "giggle"


Well I do have made my own improvements and finally got this:

Cool right? Well I'm still working around the colours adding because its seems everytime you add the "shiney" part you'll get a cropped line over the bright parts and if you try to make it work with a black colour around the stockings well... It will get stuck due to taking all the brightness away.


Now here it comes my favourite part:


How did you do it?


Well I got from Caitlyn the PDS file... I don't have Photoshop and yet Paint Shop Pro managed to open it... So after several hours of trial and error (I prefer to call it mess and play) I managed to convert a "workable" file into a PSP file.


Yay! Finally I Can actually work with it...


Now here it comes the part when stuff gets hard (for me of course!) Apparently if you play with the brightness and the colour of a real photo it will be enough to create the shiny part.


ERROR 404 not found "giggle"


That will work on special ocassions and only if the photo has latex (lets say you have a latex clothing on it )

To explain it better: DO you notice the parts where the catsuit is bright and has some white lines (WET effect) all over it?

that said if will work with that but, In a drawing it will not...

See it there was a foolhardy attempt at it playing with the lightning and choosing other colours and retouching the sides a bit and finally quitting the background (It won't be used)

So what to do again?

Easy enough the net has a wide variety of blogs, pages, exercises and such for Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro

For anyone that uses Photoshop on a regular basis it must sounds stupid but I've to say this was a great achievement for me!

First you gotta learn how to create what you want (In this case a latex texture)

Now go over the net and search for an image which has a latex background in half the image or the entire image!

Got it right? 

Then select that image in Photoshop or Paint shop pro and then select Save as: a BMP archive

And then you want to know how to apply it!

All said you are ready to go and make it.... hey wait! there is more don't go so fast!

Lets return to the first picture

See the white lines all over it?

To create that effect you must use the lasso over the preferred area and once you got it select right click on it. Now you will see a dotted line over the area.

Then we will click on Effects>Texture Effects>Texture 

And you will select from the place you had it saved your texture (following the previous explanations) then an window will pop up with the next balances:

Below the selected texture you will see an option for selecting size: 44% was chosen for this one

Now we have more options:

Image> Smoothness - Depth - Ambience - Bright

Light> Colour (select a colour for the texture) White shall be your selected one if you want to achieve the one from the above.

Angle: 90º

Intensity - Elevation

So got them right? Now get accostumed to them playing around with the stats...

To achieve the one from above otherwise you have to make sure the following options are done like this:

Smoothness (100)

Depth (88)

Ambience (23)

Bright (31)

Intensity (56)

Elevation (20)

That for all the selected parts with the lasso...

To get the general colour from above  play with another values on brightness only

Hopes that helped anyone who wanted to get a latex feel to an object or a drawing! ^-^

This weekend I'll make sure to keep playing around with the new logo and then try to post something new!

100th! Post (Cap Galore)

Howdy gals! I know I took sooooooo much long to post something over here but, life comes first and I have a little surprise for you all. Yes you can guess from the title of the post but beware a long reading awaits you ahead.

Now that I reached my 100th post I decided to make it worthy of being the 100 duh! And congratulate every friend I made over the year since I started captioning. At first I was but a joke of a captioneer (Can say it over to me because I consider that to be true "giggle") and I think that is thanks to those people who will get mentioned in here (at least most of them) that I improved over the next few things:

1- English: Of course that was the main purpose of writing everything in English, just for improving it or knowing more stuff about grammar and such. ^-^

2- Cap making: It was at first an alien concept to me since the last year, sure I've seen many caps but not that many and of course not as good as I've seen over at the Haven.

3- Making friends worldwide: The Haven is the greatest community of all to make a friendship and of course the Internet is so populated with trolls, noobzs, flamers’, bad people overall, etc. That encountering such a friendly community was a great over the top finding for me.

4- For the fun: Just for the fun of it I created and indulged in myself creating Alectra which is the reason this very blog exist... So thanks again for that ^-^

5- Improving my literature skills: Pretty much like cap making but there is so much of the process of creating an impressive or at least a decent story from time to time that you wouldn't believe how much of the real life this take from you sometimes.

With that said I think I clearly made the point that I owe a lot to Rachel for creating that community and making it grow over the years. So I think I'll create some other time a special cap for here over here. Hey after the Mistress of the Haven deserves some space "giggle".

Another reason is to create single caps and try to come up with the right words without crumpling the story or making excessively long or adding borings parts to flow the story. Of course that doesn't mean I won't create more long stories but It have turned out in a hell of a long post and I don't think a post support that many images "giggle"

Hi gals, after my long rambling from yesterday I came to the conclusion that I can offer something different that other may find impossible or hard to do...


Music Caps!


In real life I'm an "accomplished" Opera Singer...Yeah even being such a baby I can nail opera songs "giggle"


In the tenor range ^-^ (Weeeeeeell still in practice till I reach 30 years old!)


Now if you are looking for my other persona, she would fall into the mezzosoprano voice

Most of the time the voice of Alectra tends to be seductive and low, but, she can rise as nice to the sensual and beautifully crafted high pitched voice


Now this has an actual explanation...


Due to the kind of personality she has she would nicely fall into that category.


For a few examples looking into the psychological ground of the voice (This doesn't have to fall into you, this is just an example as psychiatrists measures the "coloratura" of the voice accompanied with a mental background)


High pitched voices says that you are childish. naive, with a huge ego (know tenors "giggle" it would be impossible for them to reach the higher notes if not for their bravado will hitting that scale...Indecisive peeps won't reach the key note no matter how high pitched is their voice); Dark voices says that you are serious, rational, decisive, thoughtful. And a mix between the two says that you are mysterious, playful, hard to grasp. ^-^


So I'm introducing you to a new world that I hope you'll fancy just like me ^-^

1. Dee : In The Hall of the Mountain Queen


Now this one comes from the inmortal sonata of Edvard Grieg Peer Gynt Suite Nº1 and this one as the name suggest is In The Hall of The Mountain King.


Maybe you don't know the name nor the composition, but, I'm sure you had heard of it ^-^


What makes this one so special and magical is the incredible work that put Edvard Grieg while making it, you can grow a love for the wind department in here (either metal or wood).  Oboes along with trombones make a fantastic duet and So the Violins makes a terrific ending to it. While the first announce your entry as if you were slowly walking into the hall growing an increasing need to careful watch around the intricate and beautifully crafted sounds inside the hall.  The second announces a terrific ending and ocasionally the strings that make you take little steps before running into a perfect rush to the end make it a delight to your ears;


What you will notice in here is that as being a classic composition there's no lyrics, thats where I enter ^-^


I know music and I can totally fit words, breaking sentences and make it almost perfectly to sing along with the composition...


I tried this many times but until recently got the idea to use that knowlegde to fit into a cap ^-^

2. Alleria: Sexy song by Alleria


What so special about this one?, well the title alone don't suggest anything because the first part is just a mix of sentences from other songs not needed to tell you about those one...


What's important in here is the second part, I came with a mischievous idea, so while my friend Alleria is another singer this came rightfully appreciated...


She is practising and his boyfriend wants to peek a little, so she discover that he is actually peeping tom her and so she start to sing this song.


The song itself is a classic, Scarborough Fair

Made famous in the entire world by Simon and Garfunkel in a classic pop song style but, the classical one offers a lot more ^-^


As twisted as the other one, this one needs a little of preparation because there's already a lyric done for it. Changed to fit the times as you know it because there is an old version of it when the people of England would go with a brilliant and shiny armour "giggle"

The purpose of the song as is what originally intended was about a woman who offered his lover an impossible task to complete but in the end love is stronger than ever and his lover get to accomplish the impossible task. Note that if you hear the song, those tasks comes into the myths terrain, so it would be actually impossible to do it for real "giggle"


So with that in mind, the next part turns out to be tricky. Note that I'm not British but I do have some knowlegde of old poetry so that part was somewhat covered in the song. Again to make it flow right this time you need to find words that are somewhat stylish and good to hear and sing, so this one took me like three hours or so to create the lyrics and make sense of top of that heh heh heh.

I may revisit this kind of post as soon as I get another song to twist around, whether classical, pop or a composition... It doesn't matter I know how to stretch the sounds to blend right and make it actually doable ^-^
